EIP Michigan Traffic School

Traffic Programs

We offer three Traffic Safety Programs. There is no overlap since each has its own content and format. If all classes are to be attended, it does not matter which is taken first. All three consist of one Saturday session.

State Of Michigan BDIC

EIP, one of Michigan’s first Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDIC) providers, is offering the defensive driving course in both a class room setting and online. Not only will you avoid costly new points on your driving record and you will become a better driver through this educational program. Studies have shown that over 70% of the drivers who participated in a driver safety training program had zero future collisions and violations over a nine-year period.

Traffic Safety Level I

This course is designed for those with a minor traffic violation. The classes are taught by state certified driver education instructors. They consist of lectures, discussions, and audio-visual presentations focusing on traffic laws, safety issues, defensive driving, driver responsibility, pedestrian safety, and substance abuse and physical laws in relation to driving.

Traffic Safety Level II

This course is designed for the multiple offender, those who cause accidents, and license restoration matters. Groups are led by Master’s level individuals with professional social work or counseling backgrounds. It is participatory in format, with small group discussions, role playing, problem solving and structured feedback. Each participant examines how their attitudes, emotions and personal value system affect driving behaviors. The objective is to understand and change poor driving attitudes by understanding the reasons for current driving habits. The program also stresses accepting responsibility, rather than blaming other drivers or the police.
