Assaultive Behavior

Assaultive Behavior

This program is designed for the offender convicted of a minor or first offense who has not shown signs of aggressive or assaultive behavior in the past. It is an all-day session that offers a non-judgmental and non-threatening opportunity for participants to examine and question the self-defeating attitudes and behaviors that lead to their arrest. It is not a forum to reargue the incident. The content is designed to provide insight and encourage participants to make decisions and changes to avoid a repeat of the arrest. The format consists of facilitator lead group discussions with appropriate interaction and feedback. Some of the topics discussed include values vs. actual behavior, aggression vs. assertion, emotional control, stress, setting goals, acting vs. reacting, etc.
